Cycling Tours

Africa Rising Tours has a number of cycling services available.

  • We provide training camps and warm ups for the famous Cape Town Cycle Tour held annually on the first weekend in March. Now one of the biggest individual times cycle races in the world with over 30,000 participants, it is definitely one to tick off the bucket list.
  • We also provide Multi-day cycle tours incorporating some of South and Southern Africa's most beautiful and famous tourist routes.
  •  Day tours showcasing unique cultural and historical sites.

Besides sourcing carefully selected scenic and challenging cycling routes on the longer tours, we provide constant vehicle support transport and back up services, bike trailers (depending on the size of the group) to carry up to 20 bikes, and experienced cycling guides. Depending on the tour and type of road or track conditions, either road or mountain bikes are used. We find that on the more extreme trips or longer riding trips most clients prefer to bring their own bikes which we can accommodate on our trailers, or we can arrange cycle hire for the duration of your trip.

Cape Town Day Cycles

Best of the Cape Cycle Tour

This 14 Day cycle tour of The Cape showcases the highlights and stunning scenery of this magnificent part of South Africa. We cycle some of the most scenic areas the Cape has to offer on sealed tar roads that are accessible on a road bike ( and also available to E Bikes) but still allows ample time off the bike to enjoy other activities as well. Garden Route to Cape Town

This fantastic tour starts in Port Elizabeth with a transfer to Tsitsikamma National Park. It explores the beautiful coastal towns of Knysna and Plettenberg Bay, traversing some of the famous passes of the Cape fold mountains such as the Swartberg Pass, a visit to the ostrich capital of the world and the famous Cango Caves in Oudtshoorn in the Klein Karoo, visiting Cape Aghullus the southernmost tip of Africa, a trip to Hermanus the whale capital of South Africa, and cycling part of the Cape Town Cycle Tour route from Cape Point to Cape Town. Once you have secured your entry on the official Cape Town Cycle Tour website, you can join our training camps and get yourself ready for the race whilst at the same time enjoying the beautiful vistas of Cape Town, the Winelands, and the Cape coastline.
